cami Napoli

April 17 - May 17 . 2020

Cami was mentored by a co-worker, who is a great artist, 16 years ago to do oil painting.  She dabbled in oil and acrylic over 15 years, never fully satisfied that she would create great art.  Then she was encouraged to try drawing and started with charcoal and discovered she had a talent for it  This evolved into using pastels, which now she has found to be her favorite way to express herself.  She has been participating with entries at a co-op gallery called COAL Gallery in Carlsbad over the past year and has won ribbons which has further encouraged her. This passion for drawing came at the age of 70 and She encourages anyone to believe it is never too late to discover your talents.

Born and raised in north San Diego County, Trevor Ansell is a true Oceanside local artist. He was introduced to paint by his cousin Mateo at the age of 17. A few years later, after experimenting on his own, Ansell took an art class at Mira Costa College where he learned the finer points of color and their compliments. Clearly inspired by primaries, his body of work is full of color and vibrancies. All of Ansell’s paintings are created with shades and hues made from scratch by the artist himself.

Choosing to predominately create on wood as his surface of choice, Ansell works with any surface that speaks to him including surfboards and canvas.

At the age of 23 he painted his first fish. Now, years later, Ansell continues to create many different pieces all including his signature fish designs. Each character embodies an undeniable sense of self and the observer can’t help but anthropomorp…

At the age of 23 he painted his first fish. Now, years later, Ansell continues to create many different pieces all including his signature fish designs. Each character embodies an undeniable sense of self and the observer can’t help but anthropomorphize the images. Complete with their own names, relatable expressions and body language, this collection is guaranteed to make you smile.

“Trevor’s pieces are unique, full of imagination and evoke pure joy!” -JM

'Koch's oil Paintings frequently inflect her photographic images with texture, color and brush strokes she could not realize in one medium alone. they are a way of processing her emotions: capturing a color and ferocity felt in her soul and realized on her canvas. Koch's use of paint to manipulate, personalize, minimize and exaggerate her subject matter, leaves the viewer enveloped in a secondary experience, that of the image and that of koch's interpretation.' -diana carey, curator
